Common Areas
In our house, you will have a private room or a shared room with one other person.
You will be sharing the bathrooms, dining area, living room, and kitchen with other classmates, instructors, interns, and/or resident artists. We ask that during your stay you try to keep these areas clean for yourself and the other guests. Our house is equipped with kitchen utensils, linens and appliances. Please be respectful of these items as all of the guests in the housing will be sharing these items. If you need new linens during your stay, please let a CMA staff member know and they can assist you with getting replacements. If you see a problem within the home, please notify CMA by calling 814-418-0409. In case of an emergency within the house please call the police at 911 and call 860-573-4918.
Doors
All of CMA House’s doors open with a code, this code will be provided to you. The door will automatically lock behind you, but to be more secure you can re-lock the door behind you by pressing the lock button. Sometimes the lock may catch and not fully lock, please relock. The door will continuously try to lock itself and will eventually run low on batteries. If the lock is blinking red, sounding off, or being slow, please let a CMA staff member know, as the door likely needs new batteries. If you have trouble getting in or using the doors in general, please call us at 814-418-0409.
Guests
We ask that no additional guests stay with you in our student house. The exception to this rule is if you have already disclosed any additional guests and have been granted permission by CMA. If you wish to bring any guests, please let us know before your arrival. Do not provide the house code to anyone. If you have an approved guest, you must be present to let the individual in the house.
Quiet Hours
Due to having other guests within close proximity to one another, we have set quiet hours. Quiet hours begin at 10pm and end at 8am. We ask that during these hours you be respectful of the other guests and refrain from making loud noises that could potentially wake up the other visitors.
Fire
Fire of any kind is strictly prohibited. Do not have a fire in the backyard. Do not try
to light a fire in the fireplace. Do not smoke, burn incenses or candles inside of CMA House.
Pets
We strictly prohibit pets from staying in our house. This alleviates possible allergic
reactions within the housing and provides cleanliness and safety to all students.
Drugs and Alcohol
Illegal drugs and smoking are strictly prohibited in student housing. We ask that smoking take place outside for the health and safety concerns of our other guests. Alcohol is allowed in our student house, but we ask that you drink responsibly. Occasionally we may have students that are under the legal drinking age staying in the house. Please do not allow them to drink alcohol or offer them alcohol. By offering them alcohol you are breaking Pennsylvania law. The legal drinking age in Pennsylvania is 21 years of age.

All costs associated with being dismissed are your responsibility and CMA will not be held accountable for these costs.
Stealing/Broken Items

If you accidentally break something, we ask that you let us know, so that we can replace it. Depending on the item broken, you may or may not be charged if you tell a CMA staff member prior to your departure. If you notice someone else in the house has broken or stolen, we ask that you tell a CMA member and we will take care of the situation. Currently the doors to each room only lock from the inside. Please keep any valuable items locked away or with you at all times. The Center for Metal Arts is not responsible for any personal items stolen during your stay and your signature below relinquishes us from liability.
