In this two-day workshop students will learn all the steps to forge a hidden-tang, Japanese style chef knife. Forging techniques and cold-working will be demonstrated and taught at the anvil. Basic heat treatment, polishing, handle making, and sharpening will be covered, as apart of the finishing process.
An emphasis will be placed on controlled hand forging. Students will also learn how to make a handle for their knife, creating a beautifully finished chef knife. A huge success last year, this workshop is a must take for any bladesmith enthusiast.Students can expect to leave class with a finished blade that will serve them well in the kitchen for years to come! This is a great beginner knife-making workshop for anyone interested in perusing this aspect of the craft.
